Mampe Elephant Rum returns: A legend celebrates its comeback!
Berlin, March 18, 2025 – A piece of history is being revived! Mampe Berlin, the venerable spirits brand with over 190 years of history, is bringing back its legendary Elephant Rum – thus setting a strong example of quality, craftsmanship, and the brand's rich heritage. Elephant Rum, a true masterpiece that has delighted generations of connoisseurs for over a century, returns in its ancient Jamaican tradition and impresses with its elegant design and unaltered top quality.
In 1831, Carl Mampe Sr. began producing stomach bitters as a remedy for cholera. Over the decades, Mampe grew into one of Berlin's most well-known brands and has long since become an institution in the German spirits market. Elephant Rum—a fascinating chapter in the brand's history—was known in its early years as "Jamaica Rum" or "Elephant Rum" and remains a true cult drink to this day.
